Comic Book Movies

Movies based on comics and other literary sources have increased these days. Everyone watches the new Christopher Nolan Batman movies, but very few know the comics or atleast the cartoon series. This is to help every know a bit of the back story so that everyone can enjoy the upcoming movie to its full.

1. The New Batman movie:

Christopher Nolan will be presenting his last installment of the Batman movies and the movie is called "The Dark Knight Rises". The Principal Villain this time is Bane and a could-be villain character is Selina Kyle (Less emphasis is given to her and hence her transformation to Catwoman is doubtful). To pose as people who know the comics one has to know the following.

The character of Batman is one of the very few Superhero comics where the protagonist has no superpowers but instead has trained his body and mind to very high levels so he can protect the innocent. As a kid Bruce Wayne (Batman) witnesses his parents' murder and is driven into an obsession of fighting crime. To fight crime effectively he travels across the world learning Martial Arts, Deductive skills and knowledge of how an evil mind works. He creates the persona of Batman to scare the criminals and to bring peace to the city of Gotham. Batman never uses a gun, having seen it being used on his parents. He is also the only one to have the Kryptonite bullets to kill Superman (which Superman himself gave him) to be used if ever Superman turns evil. The Detective as he's famously called has a strong sense of morality. When the villain named Darkseid creates clones of Batman to use them for world domination the clones inherit his sense of justice and hence commit suicide to stop Darkseid from using them.

Bane: Bane was raised in a prison. Since the authorities fail to capture his father( a revolutionary fighting against the government) they capture a young Bane and imprison him. In the Pena Dura prison Bane dedicates himself to earn authority and trains his body to very high levels and thanks to the many inhabitants of the prison he gets himself educated. After becoming a physically intimidating person he declares himself the King of the Pena Dura Prison. The prison authorities notice his physicality and force him into becoming a test subject for a poisonous steroid like substance called Venom. Venom increase his size and strength to superhuman levels and he becomes increasingly dependent on it. Having had nightmares of a demonic bat since his childhood he starts to believe that he is destined to fight Batman. To declare himself as the "King of Gotham" he deviates Batman by first helping the inmates of Gotham's prison to escape. It takes many sleepless and food-less days and nights for Batman to round up the escaped convicts and return them to prison. On the verge of exhaustion he is confronted by Bane who defeats him and breaks his back. Thus Bane becomes the only one to ever 'break the bat'. Bruce passes his Cowl and Cape to his fellow superhero friend Azreal who defeats Bane with the help of an updated Bat-suit. Bruce eventually recovers from his injuries and returns to his duty as Batman and eventually defeats Bane during another confrontation.

The first confrontation between Batman and Bane is the primary plotline for the comic book "KnightFall". The new movie seems to follow the plotline of knightfall very closely seeing the emphasis that is given to Bane.
